A competition with its own rules
The Community Cup is an affiliate-based online competition associated with the CrossFit season. Its tiered structure is intended to group athletes with comparable performance references, rather than treating everyone as one undifferentiated field.
Dates, eligibility and assigned tiers must be checked for the actual edition. The older French source describes 2025 arrangements that should not be presented as permanent rules.
Understand the edition-specific tier
CrossFit's 2025 explanation describes five competitions linked to levels assigned after valid Open scores. It directs athletes to the tier they were invited to enter.
A tier is a competition grouping, not a complete assessment of every movement you can perform. Do not choose a different category from an unofficial percentile estimate or a rough label such as beginner.
Use the prescribed workout version
Read the programme for the assigned tier. Different versions can use different movements or loads. General training modifications are useful when needed, but they do not automatically count as valid competition versions.
Check the scorecard, equipment and judging requirements before starting. The scaling guide explains the wider distinction.
Coordinate with the affiliate
Ask the gym about available sessions, booking and judging before assuming you can complete the event during an ordinary class. Clarify which actions remain your responsibility, including score submission.
Use the current organiser information for the required venue and judge arrangements rather than borrowing another season's instructions.
Make the event useful beyond the ranking
A defined competition can provide a shared occasion and a task to review. Record what you did, the standard and any issue that affected the attempt. Choose a small number of subsequent practice priorities with your coach.
Our personal-progress article and record-tracking guide help keep the result in context.
Find the right year
Read the 2025 archive for that edition. For a new entry, begin with the current CrossFit Games information rather than interpreting a historical registration date as an open booking window.
