Choose the measurement you actually need
A training wearable can help log sessions, but it does not determine the official race result. Indoor distance, lap counting and wrist heart-rate measurements have limitations. Check the current race rules if you plan to use a device during an event.
This article retains six references from the French selection. It is a documentary comparison, not a hands-on ranking of the latest models. Battery figures from different modes are not directly comparable, and a subscription-based tracker is not the same type of product as a GPS watch.
Compare shared catalogue references

Prices and offers come from the shared NordicWeb catalogue. Each record retains its original EAN and variant; retailer availability and current offers may change.
Garmin Forerunner 255 Music
The linked reference is the Whitestone 46 mm Music variant. The original editorial heading shortened the name to Forerunner 255; check the exact variant when comparing another offer.

COROS PACE 3
The shared reference identifies the white silicone variant. Check the actual screen, controls and supported activity modes rather than carrying over a specification from a different COROS model.

Polar Grit X Pro
The shared reference is the black M/L variant. Confirm wrist fit, supported sensors and the measurement mode used for any battery claim.

Garmin Forerunner 955
The linked record identifies the black variant. Check the model generation, accessories and actual activity functions needed for your sessions.

Apple Watch Ultra 2
The shared reference specifies black titanium and a dark-green Alpine strap in size M. Confirm phone compatibility and the exact case-and-strap package.

WHOOP 4.0
The source reference is an Onyx package with a twelve-month subscription. Compare the membership terms and generation rather than treating it as a conventional standalone GPS watch.

Check controls, comfort and the total cost
Consider how you mark laps, read the screen and wear the device during station movements. Test the setup in ordinary training. Compare charging, phone compatibility, sensor support and any subscription separately from the purchase price.
Confirm technical details in the Garmin, COROS, Polar, Apple or WHOOP information for the exact generation.
Use the training guide and finishing-time article to give the data a purpose. A wearable is optional, and its score is not a substitute for the official event timing.
