What is HYROX Youngstars?
Youngstars introduces fitness racing to children aged 8–15. Running and exercise stations follow an age-adapted format. A youth entry is separate from an adult race entry, and the adult distances and loads must not be used as a substitute for youth rules.
Start with the general HYROX guide for vocabulary, then use the official Youngstars documents for participation.
Find the applicable age group
The programme separates ages 8–9, 10–11, 12–13 and 14–15. Check the participant’s age on race day and the category offered for that event. An upcoming birthday can matter when booking in advance.
Read the age-specific rulebook and child-friendly instructions together. Confirm the exercise list, distances, repetitions and loads in that document rather than extrapolating from an adult division.
Prepare the experience together
Ask what appeals to the young participant: trying the stations, joining friends or experiencing a first race. Let that goal guide the preparation instead of making a finishing time the only measure of success.
Use coaching appropriate to the age group. Adult training articles are background information for parents, not a youth programme. Make sure the participant understands instructions and knows how to ask for help or stop.
Plan supervision and the event day
Read the event’s guardian registration, arrival and collection arrangements. Prepare the requested documents and agree meeting points before and after the race. Do not assume a parent can enter the athlete area or run alongside their child.
If a guardian also races in an adult event, check provisional schedules and supervision arrangements before booking. The presence of an adult HYROX in a city does not confirm a Youngstars event there.
Before booking
Confirm race-day age, category, location, ticket conditions, accompanying adult and the correct event instructions. Check the official calendar for availability and changes.
