Choose dumbbells for your home sessions

Fixed dumbbells avoid plate changes during circuits with frequent transitions. Hexagonal heads limit rolling when placed down; that does not mean they can be dropped.

This selection presents Amazon Basics references listed at 5 and 10 kg and a HOMCOM pair of 12.5 kg dumbbells. Check weight and packaging together. The word set does not establish the exact number of pieces supplied.

Products and offers come from Amazon.fr and may change. Wodball has not carried out a hands-on test of these references. The guide compares useful characteristics rather than assigning unmeasured durability ratings.

Amazon Basics 5 kg: a fixed-weight reference

The selected listing describes rubber-coated hexagonal dumbbells in the 5 kg variant. Compare it if that load suits your learning or strength exercises.

Before ordering, confirm the number of pieces and what the selected weight means. Do not infer weight per dumbbell from total parcel weight.

Amazon Basics 10 kg: a different load option

This separate product reference also belongs to the rubber-coated hexagonal family, in the listed 10 kg variant. It has its own product identifier.

Choose the weight for the limiting movement in your circuit. A manageable rowing load may be too heavy for repeated overhead work. Confirm the exact package on the retailer’s page.

HOMCOM 2 × 12.5 kg: an explicitly listed pair

This reference lists two 12.5 kg dumbbells with hexagonal heads and metal/rubber construction. It provides an identified pair to compare with listings whose quantities need closer checking.

12.5 kg per hand is different from 12.5 kg spread across a set. Check capacity for each intended movement and plan storage.

Fixed or adjustable dumbbells?

Fixed weights simplify setup when the load stays constant, but several pairs need more space. Adjustable weights offer different loads with fewer pieces; their locking mechanism and permitted uses must suit your exercises.

For repeated floor transitions, check the adjustable model’s instructions. Do not assume a mechanical adjustment system tolerates the same handling as a fixed dumbbell. This comparison concerns the fixed references above.

What weight should you buy first?

Start with the planned exercises. A squat, carry and press may call for different loads. If buying one pair, account for the limiting movement and intended repetition count.

Try the load in a gym if possible and ask for feedback on execution. An Rx prescription is a programme reference rather than a purchase requirement. Read Rx and scaled workouts for the distinction.

Check the complete offer

Confirm quantity, weight per item or per set, handle shape and diameter, dimensions, storage and floor requirements. Check delivery conditions and any extra charges for the selected offer.

Which movements can you train?

Depending on load and proficiency, dumbbells can support strength work, carries and combined movements. See the thruster guide for the squat-to-overhead sequence; the dumbbell version needs its own positioning.

Compare kettlebells if deciding between tools. One dumbbell can be sufficient for some exercises; two-load sessions need a suitable pair.

Frequently asked questions

Does rubber protect every floor? No. It does not guarantee freedom from marks or impact damage. Follow equipment instructions and prepare the surface.

Why compare different weights? The references illustrate equipment options. Compare offers with equivalent weight and quantity when judging cost.
