Shared work with a separate leaderboard
Pairs Competition runs alongside the 2027 Open on the same dates and uses its workouts, completed with a partner sharing repetitions. Results appear on a separate leaderboard. It is not simply the sum of two individual scores.
Partner selection and divisions
Announced divisions are male/male, female/female and male/female. The younger partner determines the pair’s age group. Each athlete performs the variation for their own age and sex, but both select the same scaling option: Rx’d, scaled or foundations. A pair therefore does not necessarily use one load.
Registration, captain and announced price
Registration opens on 7 January 2027. One athlete registers and pays for the pair, becomes captain and submits scores. The announced price is USD 20 per pair, or USD 15 in certain regions. CrossFit announces a half-price discount if at least one partner also registers for the individual Open. Confirm the applicable amount at registration rather than treating a currency conversion as a local price.
Can you enter individually and in Pairs?
Yes, but each workout must be performed twice: once individually and once with your partner, with separate scores. An athlete may join only one pair. Arrange slots with your coach and account for recovery instead of assuming the extra performance is trivial.
Share repetitions without guessing the standards
The announced principle allows partners to split repetitions freely. Wait for each workout’s documents for technical requirements, transitions and any specific conditions. Neither the movements nor a sharing plan for 27.1 is currently known.
