What is a Death by workout?
The task increases at scheduled minute starts, commonly by adding a repetition each minute. The exact starting quantity and increase must be stated in the programme. The name alone does not specify every rule.
Read the progression
Identify the movement, load, first-minute task and increase. Check whether several movements progress together and whether there is an overall cap. Do not assume that every version follows an identical ladder.
When does it end?
A common version ends when you cannot complete the prescribed work within its minute. Record completed minutes and additional work using the announced convention. Verify whether any rule allows continuing after a missed minute.
Anticipate shrinking recovery
Work grows while the minute stays the same, so rest tends to shrink. A manageable first minute does not describe the later demand. Select movement and load before starting, and retain controlled execution.
Score and adaptation
Record the starting task, increments, movement variation, load and final score. Adapting the ladder changes the task; keep the version clear when comparing sessions.
