A competition with its own identity

French Throwdown is a named fitness competition with its own categories, qualification process and event organisation. A familiar movement or a CrossFit connection does not mean its rules are identical to the Open or Games.

The French source was written around the 2025 event. This English guide separates that historical context from arrangements for a future edition.

The Montpellier 2025 context

The organiser's official history confirms that the 2025 event took place at the Sud de France Arena in Montpellier. It also describes the charitable collaboration with Aladin from 2022.

Historical ticket prices, category quotas and transport details are not current offers. Check the organiser's own information for any new entry or visit.

Choose the actual category

Read the edition's category definitions and qualification instructions before registering. Labels such as beginner, intermediate and RX depend on the event. They do not automatically correspond to your gym's terminology or a level earned elsewhere.

For teams, confirm composition, eligibility and how scores are submitted. Read the entire process rather than assuming an online qualifier guarantees a place at the final.

Prepare for the published task

Work with your coach on the movements and standards relevant to your category. Once workouts are announced, check equipment, score method, tiebreaks and evidence requirements.

Our scaling guide distinguishes training modifications from prescribed competition versions. A modified practice session should be recorded separately.

Plan spectating or competing separately

Check athlete and spectator access, the timetable and the exact entrance. Allow time for the final journey and required check-in. Do not assume that an older venue's facilities apply to another edition.

The city visit and surrounding atmosphere can be part of the experience without defining the course or event arrangements.

Keep the result in context

Use the event's official leaderboard and review the task you actually completed. Our personal-record guide explains consistent comparisons.

For other competitions, explore the Open hub and Community Cup guide. Each event needs its own rules check.
